The Gateway Unit at Bullock County Hospital provides short term psychiatric inpatient care. The unit is designed to treat psychiatric patients with and without concurrent medical issues.
Group and Individual Counseling as well as Discharge Planning.
Signs and Symptoms:
Changes in Mental Status
A Need for Medication Adjustments in an inpatient setting
Symptoms of Psychosis
Thoughts of Harm to Self or Others
Threatening or Bizarre Behavior
Other Serious Mental Illnesses
Patients may be admitted on a voluntary basis or by court order. All admissions must be approved by Bullock County Hospital's Psychiatrist(s) and must meet the criteria for inpatient treatment. The average length of stay is seven days but stays may be longer if necessary for stabilization.
